Welcome to All The Cricket!

Good afternoon fellow travellers! Welcome to and thank you for reading my first ever official post on this new blog!

Some of you may be wondering what this is all about, others may have seen my cricket ramblings on social media and have an idea. In a nutshell, when major cricket tournaments come around I like to give the world my thoughts on proceedings via the medium of Facebook. As another men’s T20 World Cup is just around the corner, I thought I would formalise and expand on my particular style of amateur sports journalism!

“How’s it going to work Nick?” I hear you ask, well, I shall tell you. Starting this Friday (25th May 2024) I’ll be putting out a weekly blog containing my round up of that weeks exciting cricket and the cricket imminently to be enjoyed! That might be the tightest and most nail biting finishes in the IPL, or it could be the umpire at Kirkheaton CC Vs Almondbury Wesleyan CC gave an extraordinary amount of LBW because he was ready for his egg roll at lunch! I’m aiming to cover it all and make it as entertaining as possible. I’ll also be going to as many games in person as I can manage, not only to bring exciting coverage of the action but to tell you where to go for a beer, where to stay if you’re travelling, what else to do in the area around the ground and anything else that will enhance your experience.

During showcase competitions like World Cups, I’ll also be putting out All The Cricket Daily. Daily posts of “Exciting Cricket news” on Facebook was where all this began so I’m going to keep up this self imposed tradition, sharing my predictions, fun facts and, of course, bringing all the results!

So that’s what you can expect from All The Cricket. I am just a cricket fan, I have no insider tips, I’m not a player, I’ve never worked in the game………I just love the stuff and I hope you will enjoy reading this blog as much as I’m sure I will enjoy writing it. If you have any feedback or want to get involved, all the info you need is on our contact page.

The first instalment that will actually have some cricket content within it will be released on Friday. Until then, go well and all the best.

Nick

Good to see Almondbury Wes get an early mention. My local club and Amanda’s Father and brother were former players. Keep up the good work, looking forward to Friday!
